Submissions
The deadline for submissions to the Spring 2012 workshop is March 7th.
The Meacham Writers' Workshop provides local writers the opportunity to have selections of their work reviewed by visiting writers in group settings and/or in individual conferences (limited spaces available). Visiting writers will also be conducting seminars with participants.
All those who submit works for review will be assigned to a seminar with a writer in the genre they have submitted. In addition, participants may indicate their preference for an individual workshop, group workshop, or participation in both. There are, however, limited spaces for individual conferences, and organizers will set priorities in filling those slots. Once the schedule has been finalized for conferences, workshops, and seminars, participants will need to check the schedule for their appointment times. In group workshops, priority will be given to works submitted by those who do not also have individual conferences.
Prose submissions must be a maximum
of twelve (12) double spaced pages of prose.
Poetry submissions are a maximum
of three (3) poems
You may submit your work
directly from this website.

If, after submitting, you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, check your spam folder or contact the webmaster.
Submissions are not accepted by mail. Those unable to submit electronically can submit paper copies of three (3) copies of up to twelve (12) pages of prose in collated packets and/or three (3) copies of up to three (3) poems in collated packets. Paper submissions must be hand delivered to
Prof. Richard Jackson
English Dept. 2703
203 Holt Hall
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
Chattanooga, TN 37403
All questions regarding submissions should be directed to Dr. Richard Jackson.
For those requesting participation in a poetry group workshop, the first poem in each packet will be the one discussed in the workshop, so make sure that is the topmost poem (first poem submitted electronically); in prose, the individual reader may focus on a theme such as beginning, scene, point of view, etc. so that only a small portion of the piece may be up for discussion.
Post-reading parties and gatherings (places TBA) will provide ample opportunity to talk with the visiting writers. The staff are picked for their willingness to spend time with aspiring writers as well as their credentials as writers.
For more information, contact Richard Jackson or one of the other Workshop Coordinators.
